Lauren Clifton is an Australian born artist that paints with the everyday life in mind. Her work captures action and excitement in a stylishly edgy presentation that appeals to a diverse array of viewers. Lauren's passion for Art began in High School where she graduated with honors as an Art Major. Her thesis project was a finalist in the nation, and her work was chosen to exhibit for a month in the local artists expo in Wollongong, Australia.
Digital Media was another interest for Lauren, and in the early 2000's she began to study graphic design and screen printing. This promptly led to her being hired as a graphic artist for corporations and websites. Her interest broadened into the film and television world where she received a diploma in Film and TV Production in Sydney. After working on a variety of short films in the camera and art department, Lauren was called upon as Art Director for the award winning Australian short film "Forced Entry".
Moving to Canada for a year and working in the Art department on numerous film projects, Lauren began to miss creating worlds on canvas, and during her frequent visits to the USA, she set up shop in a friend's home, and her work began to grow; the apartment becoming a gallery displaying her creations. Although not continuing studies on Art, Lauren began to challenge herself, believing the more you do, the better you become. Discovering her "style" of sorts, Lauren calls herself self taught, and due to her style maturing with each piece, she found it a positive attribute rather than a obstruction, as she considers her work inspired by everyday life. She didn't want to find herself tied down with rules of what you can and cannot do, as she believes art is an individual expression that should come from the freedom of the mind.
Her work has since evolved into what she considers contemporary pop art with a splash of the intangible; each piece expressing its own flavor of life, inspired by the everyday… enhanced into a vibrant and stylish representation. The world and the people in it inspire and influence her in her creations.
Lauren's future aspirations are to display her work in galleries across the globe, and receive international feedback in order to inspire and challenge her future paintings.
